We collect information about you (such as your name, address and e-mail address) when you register with us, sign up for emails, e-mail us, or contact us via social media sites using the links on our website. We also collect information whenever you choose to provide it in order to use any interactive features on our website such as completing customer surveys, providing feedback and participating in competitions.

1.2 Records of website use

Our website server automatically records information that your browser sends whenever you visit a page on our website, such as your IP address; details of the web browser and operating system that you are using; the date and time of your request; the specific page requested and how you arrived at that page (eg, the search term used to find the page or link clicked to access it). This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns and does not identify any individual.  We use Google Analytics to track this data.

1.3 Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

1.4 Financial Information

Find My Dine will not store your bank details which you added when making a purchase on the website. These are securely held on the servers of our payment provider.

We may store information about your use of our site and preferences by using cookies which are stored on your computer’s hard drive. Please note that our advertisers may also use cookies. You may refuse to accept cookies or receive notification when you receive cookies by adjusting your privacy settings in your browser. If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Where deemed necessary your data, or the relevant information you provide, will be shared with the Chef/Trader running the event if you purchase tickets.  We will only share your information with your consent.

4. How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

5. What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
